State Minister for Climate Change Dr. Shezra Mansab Ali Khan has said that Pakistan’s mountain ranges and glaciers are the foundation of the country’s water security and their protection is essential for ensuring a safe future for coming generations.

Dr. Shezra stated that mountainous regions serve as a lifeline for Pakistan and emphasized the need to fully benefit from the global initiative, “Decade of Cryospheric Sciences,” aimed at protecting glaciers and ice reserves.
She appreciated the efforts of the organizing institutions in promoting environmental awareness and stressed that cooperation among the government, local communities, and relevant organizations is crucial to effectively address climate change challenges.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reducing the impacts of climate change, protecting glaciers, and improving the welfare of people living in mountainous areas.
