Iran Deal Could Be Reached Within Days, Israel and Iran Agree to Halt Attacks: Trump
US President Donald Trump has said that a major agreement with Iran could be reached within the next two to three days and claimed that Israel and Iran have agreed to suspend attacks against each other for at least one week.
Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One, Trump stated that recent diplomatic efforts had helped reduce tensions between the two regional rivals. He said both sides had been engaged in military exchanges but were now willing to pause hostilities.
According to Trump, negotiations with Iran are in their final stages and could result in a significant agreement that would prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
The US president also claimed that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened immediately after the agreement is signed, potentially easing concerns in global energy markets and international shipping routes.
Trump revealed that messages received from Iran indicated Tehran would be prepared to halt its operations if Israel also ceased military actions. He suggested that Iranian negotiators were showing a willingness to reach a settlement.
The president further stated that he had attempted to limit Israel’s response against Iran and had communicated concerns to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He added that several countries in the region had also encouraged restraint to avoid a broader conflict.
Trump’s remarks have fueled speculation about a possible diplomatic breakthrough in the Middle East, although no official confirmation of a final agreement has yet been announced by the parties involved.
