Sahibzada Farhan Named Pakistan T20 Captain for Asian Games 2026, 15-Member Squad Announced

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member T20 squad for the Asian Games 2026, with Sahibzada Farhan appointed as captain of the national side.

According to the PCB, 30-year-old Sahibzada Farhan will lead the team, while Abdul Samad has been named vice-captain for the tournament.

The men’s T20 International cricket competition at the Asian Games 2026 will begin on September 24 in Aichi, Japan, while the medal matches are scheduled for October 3.

Farhan brings considerable experience to the role, having represented Pakistan in 46 T20 Internationals and scoring 1,305 runs, including two centuries and ten half-centuries.

The squad also features several emerging players. Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Moaz Sadaqat, and Saad Masood are in line to make their T20 International debuts for Pakistan.

PCB officials stated that 14 of the 15 selected players will also participate in the white-ball training camp scheduled to begin in Lahore on June 15 as part of preparations for the event.

Pakistan’s squad includes Sahibzada Farhan (captain), Abdul Samad (vice-captain), Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Moaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Salman Mirza, Saad Masood, Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Usman Khan.

The board is hopeful that the blend of experienced performers and promising young talent will help Pakistan compete strongly for medals at the Asian Games.
