Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has announced that Iran plans to charge fees for various services provided to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.

Speaking on the issue, Ghalibaf said the Strait of Hormuz would not simply return to its pre-conflict status, but stressed that Iran remains committed to international maritime laws and regulations.

According to the speaker, the fees will be charged for services provided to vessels and are not intended to hinder global shipping or international trade. He emphasized that all measures will be implemented within the framework of international law.

Ghalibaf also revealed that Iran has allocated $300 billion for investment and development projects. A significant portion of these funds, he said, will be used for reconstruction efforts in areas affected by conflict and recent regional tensions.

The Iranian official stated that Tehran’s broader objective is to promote economic growth, regional stability, and infrastructure development while maintaining the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz.

His remarks come amid renewed diplomatic activity in the region and discussions surrounding recent efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting long-term stability in the Middle East.
