NAB Reclaims 1.26 Million Acres of State Land in Balochistan, Recovers Assets Worth Over Rs1,784 Billion
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has carried out one of the largest anti-encroachment operations in Balochistan, reclaiming approximately 1.26 million acres of state-owned land with an estimated value exceeding Rs1,784 billion.
According to NAB, the operation was conducted in coordination with the Government of Balochistan as part of a comprehensive strategy against corruption and illegal land occupation. Both institutions have reaffirmed their commitment to implementing a strict zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
NAB officials stated that operations against illegal encroachments have been intensified in several districts, including Quetta, Hub, and Gwadar, resulting in the recovery of vast tracts of government land.
The bureau said the reclaimed land has been handed over to the Forest and Wildlife Department to ensure its use for public welfare, environmental protection, and conservation purposes.
To prevent future encroachments and strengthen transparency, authorities have also initiated the digitization of land records across the province. NAB officials revealed that the digitization of land records in Gwadar has entered its final phase, a move expected to enhance transparency and reduce the risk of record manipulation.
According to NAB, the operation marks a significant milestone in safeguarding public assets, recovering national wealth, and strengthening accountability mechanisms across Balochistan.
