US President Donald Trump has claimed that a peace agreement between the United States and Iran is in its final stages and could be signed by the end of this week.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said the signing ceremony is likely to take place in Europe and may be attended by Vice President J.D. Vance.

The US president praised Pakistan’s role in the peace process, describing Pakistan’s efforts as “fantastic.” He also commended Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling them great leaders.

Trump further claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader has already approved the agreement and that the deal would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. He added that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened immediately after the agreement is signed.

However, Iran quickly rejected the claims. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said no final agreement has yet been reached with the United States and dismissed reports about a signing date and venue as speculation.

Baghaei acknowledged that Pakistan and Qatar are actively involved in mediation efforts but stressed that Iran will not compromise on its core principles and red lines during negotiations.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Fars News Agency also reported that Iranian officials have rejected Trump’s assertion that a final consensus has been achieved.

The developments come amid intense diplomatic activity, including a telephone conversation between President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to Netanyahu’s office, the Israeli leader expressed support for Trump’s position regarding a potential agreement with Iran, particularly concerning restrictions on uranium enrichment, missile production, and support for regional proxy groups.
