Trump Warns Iran as Hormuz Crisis Deepens After Talks With Xi Jinping

U.S. President Donald Trump has warned Iran that his patience is running out, urging Tehran to agree to a deal amid rising tensions in the Middle East and disruptions in global energy routes.

Speaking during an interview on Fox News’ “Hannity,” Trump said Iran should immediately negotiate to end the ongoing crisis. He stated that the United States would not remain patient for much longer if Iran continued refusing to halt its nuclear activities.

The remarks came after Trump held discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. According to the White House, both leaders agreed on the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open for international shipping and energy supplies.

Iran had effectively shut down the strategic waterway following U.S.-Israeli attacks launched earlier this year, causing major disruption to global oil markets. China, which is Iran’s largest oil customer, reportedly opposed the militarisation of the strait and rejected any move to impose tolls on international shipping.

Trump also claimed that Xi promised China would not provide military equipment to Iran, calling it a “big statement.” The White House further stated that both leaders agreed Iran should never obtain nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, security concerns in the region continue to grow. An Indian cargo vessel carrying livestock reportedly sank near Oman after being hit by a suspected missile or drone strike. In another incident, British maritime authorities said unauthorized personnel boarded a ship near Fujairah and redirected it toward Iran.

Although the United States paused direct attacks on Iran last month, Washington has maintained a blockade on Iranian ports. Negotiations between Tehran and Western powers remain stalled as Iran continues to reject demands to end its nuclear program and surrender its enriched uranium stockpile.
