Court’s Landmark Decision, Abandoned Baby Finds a Family in Islamabad

In a rare and heartwarming decision, a D.I. Khan court handed over an abandoned newborn baby to an educated couple from Islamabad.

The baby was found on August 18 inside the labor room of the District Women’s Hospital. Additional Judge Muhammad Ayaz announced the verdict, granting custody of the child to Supreme Court lawyer Hassan Adnan Ahmed and his wife Nosheen Mehsud.

The couple submitted a surety bond worth Rs. 1 million as part of the legal process. In a symbolic and emotional gesture, Judge Ayaz personally handed the baby to the new parents.

Social circles welcomed the decision, calling it a positive and humane step. Citizens said the ruling not only filled the lap of a childless couple but also set a precedent for society on how to protect and care for abandoned children.
