Iran Arrests 35 Suspected Mossad-Linked Operatives in Nationwide Crackdown
Iranian authorities have arrested 35 individuals allegedly linked to Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad as part of a nationwide crackdown, according to international media reports.
Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence stated that the suspects were detained across six different provinces during coordinated operations. Some of those arrested are also believed to have connections with separatist groups, raising further security concerns.
The crackdown follows heightened tensions and ongoing intelligence activities in the region. Iranian officials have emphasized that the operations are part of broader efforts to counter foreign espionage and safeguard national security.
Last month, Iran executed an individual accused of spying for Mossad. According to Iranian media, the suspect had shared sensitive information and images of key locations with the Israeli intelligence agency.
The accused was reportedly arrested in June last year near Tehran, in the Savojbolagh area, during a covert operation. Authorities claimed that approximately €30,000 in cash and advanced espionage equipment were recovered from him at the time of arrest.
Iranian officials further alleged that the individual had been recruited by Mossad in Europe, where he underwent specialized espionage training for two years in various European capitals before being sent to Iran on a specific mission.
The developments come amid rising geopolitical tensions, with Iran intensifying its internal security measures against alleged foreign intelligence networks operating within its borders.
