Pakistan’s former captain and star batter, Babar Azam, turned 30 today, and the cricketing world has come together to celebrate his incredible journey and achievements. Cricketers from around the world, including Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf, shared heartfelt wishes on social media, praising Babar’s contributions to the game and his steadfast dedication to the sport.

Babar Azam’s rise to prominence began with his stellar performances in an ODI series against the West Indies in 2016, where he scored three consecutive centuries. He soon became a household name, replacing Virat Kohli as the world’s number one ODI batsman in 2021, a title he still holds today. Babar’s excellence in all formats, particularly in white-ball cricket, has earned him a place among the greatest players of his generation.

Despite a recent dip in form, especially in Test cricket where he currently ranks outside the top 10, Babar remains one of the top-ranked T20 players in the world, holding fourth place. His teammates, including Shadab Khan, who posted a heartfelt message on Instagram alongside a photo of the two in their green jerseys, reminded fans of Babar’s brilliance on and off the field. “Happy birthday @babarazam. May you have a great year on & off the field. Everyone knows your batting class,” wrote Shadab.
