Ishaq Dar Arrives in Washington, Set to Hold Key Talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Washington, D.C., on an official visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and the United States.

Upon his arrival, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, welcomed the deputy prime minister. According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Dar is scheduled to meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the State Department.

The meeting is expected to focus on bilateral relations, regional developments, and issues of mutual interest. Discussions will also cover Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote regional peace and stability, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation in key sectors.

Officials said both sides are likely to exchange views on current geopolitical challenges and avenues for enhancing strategic engagement between the two countries.

Prior to his visit to Washington, Ishaq Dar attended a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York, where he also held an important meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

During the meeting, Wang Yi praised Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability, while both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation and continuing diplomatic coordination on regional issues.
