Tensions Rise Between Iran and US as Ismail Baghaei Issues Warning, Trump Claims Safe Passage Through Strait of Hormuz
Tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate after Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei issued a strong statement on social media amid the ongoing standoff.
In a post shared on X, Baghaei wrote, “If you see a lion showing its teeth, do not assume the lion is smiling.” The statement is being interpreted as a warning directed toward the United States.
Meanwhile, Tehran Governor Mohammad Sadegh announced that from May 9, all government ministries and institutions in Tehran would resume operations at full capacity.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump stated that three American destroyer warships had successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz.
In his social media statement, Trump claimed that the ships came under attack but were not damaged. He further alleged that the attacking Iranian forces suffered heavy losses and that several Iranian assault boats were destroyed.
The latest exchange of statements has further intensified tensions in the region, with the international community closely monitoring the situation.
