UAE will take Strict Action Against Propaganda Targeting Pakistan Army
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has declared its intention to take stringent measures against individuals who propagate false information and propaganda against the Pakistan Army. The announcement came from the Consul General of the UAE in Karachi, who emphasized the need for expatriates in the UAE and Gulf countries to exercise caution regarding their social media activities.
In a stern warning, the Consul General highlighted that spreading false rumors and propaganda about Pakistan and its institutions is strictly prohibited. He detailed the severe penalties that violators could face, including life sentences, 14-year imprisonments, and deportation. “Our dear brothers and sisters who live in the UAE and the Gulf countries must be careful. It will no longer be permissible to speak wrongly about their country and institutions on social media,” he stated.
The Consul General further cautioned that social media activities, such as likes and shares, are traceable and can impact future visa applications. Individuals found to have engaged in such activities may be denied entry into the UAE.
Recent actions taken by the UAE authorities serve as a testament to the seriousness of these regulations. Four to five individuals have already received life sentences, while ten to fifteen others have been sentenced to 14 years in prison. Several more have been deported as a result of their involvement in spreading false information against Pakistan.
