Grand Peace Jirga Held in Lakki Marwat to Ensure Sustainable Peace
A Grand Peace Jirga was held in Lakki Marwat at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Town Complex in Tajazai, presided over by local Brigade Commander Ali Anjum Syed, Commissioner Bannu Division, and RPO Bannu Imran Shahid. The Jirga, which included the Marwat Qaumi Jirga elders, focused on establishing long-term peace in the region.
During the Jirga, extensive discussions were held on the measures needed to achieve and maintain sustainable peace. The elders of the Marwat Qaumi Jirga presented their detailed views before the military and administrative officials.
Commissioner Bannu emphasized that the administration would spare no effort in improving the region’s development and security situation. He stated that all institutions, including the Pakistan Army and police, would continue to play their roles within their respective jurisdictions to uphold the rule of law. He expressed hope that the elders of the Marwat Qaumi Jirga would support the administration and institutions in maintaining peace and improving the region.
The elders praised the efforts of Lakki Marwat police and security forces in their operations against terrorists and pledged their complete support. They assured that the proud people of Lakki Marwat and the esteemed members of the Jirga would stand shoulder to shoulder with the police and would not allow anyone to disrupt the peace in the region. The local elders guaranteed full cooperation with the police and district administration. This initiative is a significant step towards fostering community collaboration and ensuring a stable and secure environment in Lakki Marwat.
