Khamenei Claims Iran Led Gaza–Lebanon Resistance; Declares U.S. and Israel Suffered “Historic Defeat”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that the resistance movements in Gaza and Lebanon are rooted in the principles and values of the Iranian revolution, forming a strong front against oppression in the region.

Addressing the nation on state television, Khamenei claimed that the Iranian nation had inflicted a “clear and historic defeat” on the United States and Israel during the recent twelve-day conflict. He said the enemy arrived fully prepared to spread chaos but ultimately returned “empty-handed and defeated.”

Khamenei further stated that Israel had spent two decades planning for this confrontation, yet failed to achieve its goals due to Iran’s defensive capabilities and national resistance. He added that despite significant U.S. and Israeli efforts during the attack on Iran, both nations failed to accomplish their objectives.

The Supreme Leader said the resilience of the Iranian nation has demonstrated its capacity to respond decisively to any foreign aggression. He emphasized that regional resistance forces continue to draw strength and inspiration from Iran’s ideological framework.
