Overseas Pakistanis have once again proven to be the backbone of the national economy, sending home a record $3.2 billion in remittances during September 2025, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The inflows have given a strong boost to Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves, offering relief amid ongoing economic challenges.

In the first quarter (July–September) of the current fiscal year, total remittances reached $9.5 billion, showing an 8.5% increase year-on-year, reflecting the continued dedication of overseas Pakistanis to support their families and homeland.

According to SBP data, remittances from Saudi Arabia led the inflows with $750 million, followed by the UAE ($680 million), the UK ($450 million), and the US ($270 million). These four countries together remain Pakistan’s largest sources of remittance income.

Economists have termed this growth a sign of economic resilience, saying that the consistent inflow from abroad continues to stabilize Pakistan’s external accounts and build confidence amid global uncertainty.
