Heavy Rain Alert in KP: Risk of Flash Floods and Landslides

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a high alert for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from September 7 to 9, warning of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and windstorms. Intermittent rainfall is expected, with the possibility of intense downpours in certain districts.
According to PDMA, upper districts including Galiyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Swat, Chitral, and Shangla face the risk of landslides, while urban and low-lying areas are threatened by urban flooding. Moreover, flash floods may occur in rivers and local streams.
Authorities have been directed to take precautionary measures, while the public is advised to stay cautious of weak buildings, electric poles, billboards, and solar panels that may collapse due to strong winds.
