Maulana Fazlur Rehman Lauds Pakistan Army’s Bravery, Calls for Unified National Stance

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has lauded the Pakistan Army for its courageous and strategic response to India’s recent aggression along the Line of Control (LoC), declaring that the entire nation stands united with its armed forces. Speaking during a National Assembly session, Rehman praised the military’s bravery in countering Indian drone attacks and shelling, which have claimed civilian lives and escalated tensions since India’s “Operation Sindoor” on May 7.
Rehman emphasized the need for a unified national narrative to counter India’s actions, urging the government to intensify diplomatic efforts and engage friendly nations to expose what he described as an “India-Israel nexus” driving regional instability. He announced that JUI-F’s volunteer wing, Ansar-ul-Islam, has been tasked with civil defense responsibilities to support the military. Additionally, he declared that Pakistan is observing Defense Day today, with million marches planned for May 11 in Peshawar and May 15 in Quetta to rally public support.
The JUI-F leader expressed solidarity with the armed forces, stating that every young scholar from Pakistan’s madrassas is ready to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the military on the frontlines. He criticized India’s propaganda, referencing Indian media’s admission of embarrassment over failed military operations, which he claimed have made India a “spectacle” globally. Rehman’s remarks come amid Pakistan’s successful defense efforts, including the destruction of 77 Indian drones and multiple military posts, though at the cost of civilian lives, with five martyred in recent LoC shelling.
Rehman called for Pakistan to leverage its diplomatic channels to highlight India’s violations, including the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty and attacks on civilian areas. His announcement of nationwide rallies underscores the growing public resolve to support the military and demand accountability for India’s actions. As tensions with India persist, Rehman’s call for unity and proactive diplomacy signals a broader push to strengthen Pakistan’s position on the global stage.
