Pakistan Welcomes U.S. F-16 Funding, Raises Alarm Over American Weapons in Afghanistan

Pakistan has welcomed the U.S. decision to release $397 million for its F-16 program, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated during a weekly briefing. He emphasized that Pak-U.S. relations are long-standing, and this move will further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The spokesperson also confirmed that eight illegal Pakistani immigrants were deported from the United States and repatriated to Pakistan. He assured that relevant authorities are handling their details and Pakistan is in close coordination with U.S. officials regarding deportations.
Expressing serious concerns about modern American weapons left behind in Afghanistan, the spokesperson stated that these weapons are being used for terrorism against Pakistan. He reiterated that Pakistan has repeatedly raised this issue at international forums, highlighting its potential threat to regional security.
Regarding Afghan citizens seeking relocation to foreign countries, he mentioned that several nations have specific deadlines for their evacuation. If these deadlines are not met, relevant Pakistani authorities will take necessary actions in accordance with national policies.
