Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Tuesday reaffirmed that the civil disobedience movement will commence only when PTI founder Imran Khan issues clear instructions. Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Gandapur emphasized his readiness to follow the directives without hesitation.

“The decision Imran Khan will take regarding the civil disobedience movement will be implemented,” Gandapur stated, reinforcing his alignment with the PTI leadership’s strategy.

Expressing frustration, Gandapur revealed that his recent attempt to meet Imran Khan at Adiala Jail was thwarted. “I was told that I am not allowed to meet him,” he remarked, questioning the authorities for imposing restrictions despite his position as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s representative.

Highlighting the restrictions, he said, “I do not need clearance to meet my leader. Those using oppressive tactics should explain their own ‘clearance.’”

The statement came following Gandapur’s legal proceedings at the Peshawar High Court, where his protective bail was extended until January 16. The court barred his arrest in 65 registered cases—32 in Islamabad and 33 in Punjab—until the specified date.

The court also extended similar protection to PTI leader Shibli Faraz, directing both leaders to appear before relevant courts to address ongoing legal matters.

As legal challenges intensify, Gandapur made it clear that the civil disobedience movement remains on the horizon, subject to Imran Khan’s call to action.
