Ali Amin Gandapur’s special assistant Mashal Yousafzai removed from her post
Mashal Yousafzai, spokesperson for Bushra Bibi, has been removed from her position as Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur. Her dismissal came hours after her interview with a private TV channel, where she disclosed key details about the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership’s decisions during the recent D-Chowk protests in Islamabad.
In the interview, Yousafzai revealed that Bushra Bibi had disregarded instructions from Barrister Gohar, who conveyed Imran Khan’s orders to stage a sit-in at Sangjani. Instead, Bushra chose to head to D-Chowk, citing mistrust in the party leadership. Yousafzai also claimed that Bushra’s vehicle was attacked during the protest, contradicting Islamabad police’s denial of live ammunition use.
Mashal confirmed her removal, attributing it to her remarks in the interview. She stated, “I was de-notified due to my comments on the confusion around the protest’s strategy and Bushra Bibi’s decisions.”
The timing of her dismissal coincides with growing scrutiny over PTI’s handling of the protests and internal divisions. Meanwhile, Islamabad police have refuted Yousafzai’s claims, stating that no live ammunition was used during the operation.
This controversy further highlights the challenges within PTI, with questions arising over the protest’s strategy and its leadership dynamics during the campaign for Imran Khan’s release.
