Sheikh Rasheed Acquitted in Defamation Case Against Asif Ali Zardari
Sheikh Rasheed, the chief of the Awami Muslim League and former interior minister, has been acquitted in a defamation case filed for his alleged remarks against former President Asif Ali Zardari.
The case was registered last year at Islamabad’s Aabpara police station, accusing Rasheed of defamatory comments against Zardari. Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood delivered the decision after hearing the arguments.
Rasheed appeared in court with his legal team, comprising Masroof Khan and Sardar Shehbaz Raza, during the final hearing. The acquittal brings an end to a case that has lingered in the courts for over a year.
