COAS Observes Multinational Exercise Indus Shield-2024, Applauds PAF’s Modernization Efforts

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited an operational air base of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) today to witness the ongoing multinational exercise, Indus Shield-2024. This large-scale exercise brings together 24 Air Forces from across the globe, fostering interoperability and enhancing operational capabilities under the exercise motto: “Stronger When Together.”

General Munir expressed his satisfaction with the combat readiness of the PAF and commended the advancements made through modernization and upgradation programs. He witnessed various operational exercises and viewed a display of cutting-edge technologies that demonstrated PAF’s capabilities to handle contemporary security challenges. The visit concluded with a stunning aerial display by PAF fighter jets.

During the interaction with the aircrew, the Army Chief praised their dedication to safeguarding Pakistan’s airspace. He highlighted the importance of inter-service cooperation, emphasizing that synergy between forces is key to operational success.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu briefed the Army Chief on the PAF’s modernization and indigenization initiatives, noting that the ongoing exercise Indus Shield-2024 will play a significant role in enhancing interoperability between participating nations and training their forces to meet the challenges of modern warfare.
