The Supreme Court of Pakistan has dismissed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) review petition challenging the court’s earlier decision regarding the intra-party elections. The ruling was issued by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, who noted that PTI’s lawyers did not present substantive arguments on the merits of the case. He also stated that no illegal points were identified in the previous ruling, leading the court to uphold its earlier decision.

During the hearing, PTI’s legal representative, Hamid Khan, requested the formation of a larger bench to review the case. However, the Chief Justice rejected this plea, stating that the matter was purely related to legal review, and forming a larger bench was not necessary. Justice Isa further questioned why the legal points were not raised earlier if they were critical.

This decision marks the closure of PTI’s bid to contest the intra-party election results, which have been a point of contention within the party for some time.
