Former Counterterrorism Chief Makes Major Demand to Trump Over Middle East Policy
Joe Kent, a former aide to U.S. President Donald Trump and former head of the Counterterrorism Center, has made a major statement regarding U.S. policy in the Middle East, calling for an immediate halt to American military and intelligence support for Israel.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Kent argued that protecting diplomatic understandings and memorandums related to Iran requires a reassessment of current U.S. policies in the region.
He claimed that Israel has attempted to undermine certain diplomatic efforts and agreements involving Iran and warned that similar actions could continue if no corrective measures are taken.
Kent further urged the United States to suspend all military and intelligence assistance to Israel and consider withdrawing American personnel stationed at military facilities across Gulf countries.
According to him, U.S. bases that could potentially fall within Iran’s operational reach should also be evacuated as a precautionary measure.
The former Counterterrorism Center chief emphasized that Washington should adopt a forward-looking and strategic policy aimed at preventing a wider conflict in the Middle East and promoting regional stability through diplomacy.
