Cuban President Warns US of ‘Bloodshed’ if Military Action is Taken Against Cuba
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has issued a strong warning to the United States, saying that any military action against Cuba would result in “bloodshed” and put regional peace at serious risk.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, the Cuban president said Cuba poses no threat to any country. However, he stressed that if the nation were attacked, the Cuban people would strongly resist and defend their country.
The statement comes after US media reports claimed that Cuba had acquired more than 300 military drones and was considering plans for their potential use.
According to the reports, possible targets could include the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, American warships, and the Florida region of Key West.
Cuba has rejected the allegations, accusing Washington of attempting to create a justification for possible military intervention.
Meanwhile, residents of Havana also reacted strongly to the reported US threats. Citizens said that despite the country’s severe economic crisis and fuel shortages, Cuba would not back down from defending itself.
Reports indicate that Cuba is currently facing a major energy crisis after US restrictions on Venezuelan oil supplies. Fuel shortages have intensified, and in several areas electricity is available for only one or two hours a day.
Analysts say tensions between the United States and Cuba have risen significantly in recent days, while relations between the two countries have remained strained for decades.
