The United States has strongly rejected Iran’s claim of a missile attack on a US naval vessel, calling it fabricated and baseless, as tensions escalate in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to reports by Al Jazeera and CNN, a narrative battle between Iran and the United States is intensifying in the strategically sensitive maritime region. Iranian state media claimed that a missile attack targeted a US Navy ship, but Washington firmly denied the allegation.

US officials stated that the report released by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is entirely fabricated. A senior official clarified that no US naval vessel was targeted and no such incident occurred.

In a related statement, United States Central Command also dismissed the Iranian claims, confirming that no US warship had been attacked. The statement was issued on X, labeling the reports as false.

Meanwhile, Iran’s state news agency Islamic Republic News Agency cited a military statement claiming that Iranian naval forces issued a strong warning and allegedly prevented US and Israeli warships from entering the Strait of Hormuz.

Analysts say the conflicting narratives reflect not only military tension but also an intensifying information war in the region. The Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route, remains highly sensitive, and any escalation could have significant economic implications worldwide.

Experts warn that such claims and counterclaims may increase uncertainty and raise the risk of a larger confrontation due to potential miscalculations.
