The world of technology is moving toward a major transformation where users may no longer need to constantly tell computers or smartphones what they want to do.

According to Catherine Wu, an executive at the American AI company Anthropic, future artificial intelligence systems will become proactive enough to understand users’ habits, preferences, and daily routines automatically.

Speaking at the “Code with Cloud” conference in San Francisco, Wu told TechCrunch that current AI systems still rely heavily on direct prompts, such as writing emails or generating code. However, the next major evolution in AI will be making these systems far more proactive.

She explained that future systems like Claude could deeply understand how users work and eventually begin preparing files, organizing tasks, and handling routine activities without repeated instructions.

According to experts, this technology is designed not to replace humans entirely but to take over repetitive and exhausting tasks so people can focus more on creativity and higher-level decision-making.

Wu emphasized that human oversight will continue to play a crucial role. While AI agents may perform many automated tasks, human expertise will still be necessary to detect errors and guide systems in the right direction.

Anthropic is currently developing advanced AI models aimed at dramatically increasing productivity in offices and business environments.

The company’s Claude chatbot has gained rapid popularity among enterprise users over the past year, while Anthropic continues expanding its AI tools focused on coding, workplace productivity, and automation.
