UAE, Singapore and Norway lead global AI adoption, Pakistan falls behind
Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption is accelerating globally, with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, and Norway taking a clear lead — while Pakistan remains significantly behind in this technological race.
According to Microsoft’s AI Diffusion Report 2025, more than 50% of people in the UAE and Singapore are using AI tools in their daily lives, making these nations frontrunners in global AI integration.
In contrast, less than 15% of Pakistan’s population currently uses AI-based technologies. The report attributes this slow progress to limited internet access, lack of digital literacy, and the absence of AI tools in local languages.
Experts highlight that AI adoption is faster in countries where people can interact with technology in their native languages, such as English or Arabic.
Among Muslim nations, the UAE leads in AI advancement, followed by Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Qatar, and Indonesia, which are heavily investing in AI education, data infrastructure, and government-led innovation programs.
The report further lists Israel among the seven countries developing advanced AI models — alongside the United States, China, South Korea, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
The study recommends global efforts to bridge the growing AI divide between developed and developing nations, ensuring that every country benefits from the transformative power of artificial intelligence.
