Jet Fuel Prices Cut, Petrol and Diesel Become Costlier in Pakistan
The government has provided relief to airlines by significantly reducing jet fuel prices, while simultaneously increasing the prices of petrol and diesel, adding pressure on the public.
According to airport sources, the price of jet fuel has been reduced by Rs75 per liter, bringing it down to Rs396 per liter. Over the past three weeks, jet fuel prices have been reduced by a total of Rs120.
However, the government has increased the petroleum levy on petrol by Rs26.77 per liter, taking it to Rs107.38 per liter. The price of petrol has now reached Rs393.35 per liter.
Diesel prices have also been raised by Rs26.77 per liter, with the new price set at Rs380.19 per liter.
Meanwhile, kerosene oil has been made cheaper by Rs63.60 per liter, with the new price fixed at Rs365.21 per liter.
Officials state that these changes come amid fluctuating global oil prices, as the government tries to manage economic pressures and revenue requirements.
