Younis Khan Urges Virat Kohli to Tour Pakistan for Champions Trophy

Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan has emphasized the importance of Indian cricket star Virat Kohli touring Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy. In an interview on a private TV channel, Younis stated that Kohli’s visit would be a significant milestone in his career, as it is the only experience missing from his illustrious journey in cricket.

The Indian cricket team last visited Pakistan for the 2008 Asia Cup, and their last bilateral series was held in India in 2013. Since then, the two teams have only faced each other in Asian or ICC events. With Pakistan set to host the Champions Trophy next year, there are speculations about India’s participation, but Younis Khan insists that Kohli should not miss this opportunity.

“Kohli should definitely come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. It’s our wish that he performs here. I believe this is the one thing his career lacks—he has not performed in Pakistan,” Younis said. Kohli has previously played against Pakistan in limited-overs matches during the 2012-13 series in India and has performed well in the Asia Cup and World Cup against the Green Shirts. However, he has never played a Test match against Pakistan and last visited Pakistan as a junior cricketer.
