Asia Cup 2025 Trophy Handover Set for November 10, ACC Invites BCCI for Official Ceremony
The long-delayed Asia Cup 2025 trophy handover is finally expected to take place in the first week of November, with November 10 proposed as the official date, according to sources within the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
The ACC has reportedly written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), inviting Indian representatives to attend the ceremony for the formal presentation of the trophy at the ACC headquarters.
Sources say the ACC’s response came after the BCCI wrote to ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, seeking clarification on the pending trophy handover. In its reply, the ACC emphasized that it never refused to give the trophy, but had requested that Indian officials collect it in person.
It may be recalled that following India’s Asia Cup 2025 victory, the team did not receive the trophy directly from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi due to “scheduling and logistical constraints.”
With the latest communication, it appears that both sides are now ready to settle the matter amicably, and the handover is expected to mark a formal closure to the controversy.
