Arshad Nadeem Turns Down Neeraj Chopra’s Bengaluru Invite to Focus on Asian Championships

Pakistan’s leading javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, has respectfully declined an invitation from Indian Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra to participate in the upcoming Bengaluru Classic Javelin Throw Championship.

Sources close to Arshad stated that his yearly training and competition calendar had already been finalized, making it unfeasible for him to participate in the Indian meet. His focus remains squarely on the upcoming Asian Athletics Championships, which are set to take place in South Korea from May 27.

Neeraj Chopra had extended a personal invitation in an effort to gather elite javelin talent at the Bengaluru Classic. The gesture, seen as a move toward sporting diplomacy and regional camaraderie, was appreciated but could not be accepted due to scheduling conflicts.

Arshad is scheduled to depart for South Korea on May 22 to fine-tune his preparations for the continental event, where he is expected to be one of Pakistan’s strongest medal contenders.
