Comedian Samay Raina, who was at the center of the public controversy surrounding his show, has officially postponed his return to India and rescheduled his much-anticipated India tour. The controversy, known as ‘India’s Got Latent,’ stemmed from a viral clip on his YouTube show, where a guest, podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, made a highly explicit remark about parents.

The clip sparked widespread outrage on social media and led to police complaints in Mumbai and Guwahati, with multiple legal actions being taken against those involved. Both Mumbai police and the Cyber Cell initiated investigations, and an Assam Police team traveled to Mumbai to coordinate with local authorities.

On Thursday, Samay Raina took to his Instagram Stories to address his fans, announcing the rescheduling of his tour. He reassured ticket holders that refunds would be processed soon. “Hello guys, I’m rescheduling my India tour. You all will get refunds shortly, see you soon,” he wrote.

The legal storm began when Ranveer Allahbadia’s remark during the show about parents caused public outrage. Several complaints were filed, and investigations were launched. Ranveer later apologized for his comments, acknowledging that the remark was insensitive and disrespectful.

“I am genuinely sorry for my remark about parents. It was thoughtless and hurtful. I take full responsibility for my words and will do better moving forward,” Ranveer said in an Instagram post.

While the controversy continues to unfold, Samay Raina’s decision to postpone his India tour marks a significant fallout from the incident. The comedian and his team are expected to navigate the legal and public relations challenges in the coming weeks.
