Rockstar Games Reportedly Delays GTA 6 Until 2026, New Release Window Revealed

Fans of the popular Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series may have to wait a little longer for the highly-anticipated GTA 6. According to recent reports by GTA 5 modder Liam, Rockstar Games has internally delayed the game’s release to early or mid-2026. The modder claims to have received this information from multiple developers working at Rockstar.
Liam shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “GTA 6 has been internally delayed by Rockstar Games and they’ve already decided on an early to mid-2026 release window.” Furthermore, it has been reported that PC gamers might have to wait an additional 12 to 18 months after the console release in 2026 to get their hands on the game.
Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, have yet to officially confirm or deny the reports. However, earlier this year, Take-Two hinted that GTA 6 would arrive in the fall of 2025, though no specific details were provided for the PC version.
The first official trailer for GTA 6, released last year, teased a fictional Vice City setting—reminiscent of Miami—and introduced the franchise’s first playable female character.
