Tanveer Ahmed is Optimistic About Babar Azam’s Comeback

Former Test cricketer Tanveer Ahmed recently shared his thoughts on the current state of Pakistan cricket, particularly focusing on star batsman Babar Azam and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ahmed praised Babar Azam’s batting prowess and expressed hope that the 29-year-old would soon regain his form. However, he did not shy away from criticizing Pakistan’s lackluster performance against Bangladesh in their first Test of the season.

Ahmed was particularly vocal about the team’s mistakes, noting that players like Mir Hamza and Abrar Ahmed had been brought back into the squad following errors in team selection. He hinted at potential changes, suggesting that Mohammed Ali might be replaced by Abrar Ahmed in upcoming matches.

Turning his attention to Shaheen Shah Afridi, Ahmed questioned why the pacer was dropped from the team. “Is Shaheen Shah Afridi being sidelined due to workload or attitude issues?” he asked, implying that such decisions should be made with caution. Ahmed further commented that if Shaheen’s exclusion was due to attitude, the player should focus solely on his performance and ignore distractions.
