Two Pakistani women sailors have successfully completed the first major step toward becoming international sailing judges, marking a historic achievement for Pakistan in the sport.

Zoya Asad Ali and Mehnaz Jameel participated in the World Sailing International Seminar held in Thailand. Following the seminar, both sailors passed the examination with impressive scores.

Zoya Asad Ali is the granddaughter of International Race Officer Captain Arshad.

This is the first time Pakistani women have completed the judges’ course in sailing. Both women are associated with the Pakistan Air Force Yacht Club.

According to officials, the two sailors must participate in three international events within the next four years. After their performances are evaluated in international races, they will be awarded the status of International Sailing Judge.

Previously, Pakistan had only three international sailing judges. During the 1980s, Captain Zakaullah Chaudhry and Khalid Mahmood Akhtar served as international sailing judges.
