Karan Johar Criticizes Rising Trend of Paid Publicity in Bollywood
Renowned Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has openly criticized the growing trend of paid publicity and artificial promotion in the film industry.
He stated that it has become increasingly difficult to judge the real success and popularity of films today. According to him, film promotions have become so commercialized that it is hard to differentiate between genuine appreciation and paid praise.
In a recent interview, Johar highlighted how show-based promotional campaigns are rapidly increasing in Bollywood, where large sums of money are spent to portray films as successful. He warned that this trend is affecting the trust of audiences and making it harder for viewers to identify genuine quality.
Johar emphasized that an artist should be recognized for their work rather than expensive promotional strategies. He added that strong content naturally attracts audiences without the need for artificial support.
