Major Decline in PSX, KSE-100 Drops Over 1,300 Points Amid Investor Concerns
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a turbulent trading session on Thursday, with the KSE-100 index experiencing a massive decline. By 10:34am, the index had dropped 1,369.9 points, hitting a low of 112,778.55 with a trading volume of over 100 million shares.
The day started with slight optimism as the KSE-100 peaked at 114,312.99 shortly after opening, gaining 164.54 points. However, a bearish trend quickly took over, leading to sharp declines.
Prominent stocks like PGLC plunged by 9.99% to 21.09, while ENGROH fell by 4.00% to 261.50. Some relief came from gains in JDWS, which rose by 10.00% to 995.45.
Investors remain cautious amid market volatility, reflecting concerns over the economy’s stability and the challenges faced by the stock market.
