Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Battles Malaria Outbreak with Over 54,000 Reported Cases

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has released alarming figures showing a widespread malaria outbreak across the province, with over 54,000 cases reported. Khyber district has been the worst affected, with 10,000 cases, followed closely by Shangla, which reported 6,000 cases. Other affected areas include DI Khan (4,000 cases), Battagram (3,000 cases), and Lakki Marwat (3,000 cases). Tank and Karak have also seen a significant rise in cases, each reporting 2,000.

Health Advisor Ehtesham Ali expressed grave concern over the rising number of cases, particularly in the southern districts of the province. He has directed the health department to take immediate action, urging officials to implement emergency plans to curb the spread of the disease. Special healthcare services and malaria prevention efforts are being ramped up in the worst-hit regions.

Ehtesham Ali stressed the importance of public cooperation and awareness, emphasizing that swift action is necessary to prevent the outbreak from worsening. With healthcare facilities already strained, the health department is mobilizing additional resources to combat the crisis.
