Punjab on High Alert for Urban Flooding as Monsoon Rains Set to Begin

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has placed administrations in major cities of Punjab on high alert due to the imminent threat of urban flooding. A powerful monsoon system is expected to enter the province this evening, with rains forecasted to continue until August 29.
Cities such as Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Gujranwala are particularly at risk of urban flooding. The PDMA has issued an alert to administrations across the province, urging them to prepare for the potential impact of the heavy rains.
In addition to urban flooding, there is also a significant risk of flash flooding in the Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur divisions. The authorities are taking all necessary precautions to mitigate the potential damage.
