Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has contacted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Whip Amir Dogar by telephone regarding the formation of a parliamentary committee.

According to sources, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry invited Amir Dogar to join the committee and requested the opposition to send its nominees to the National Assembly Speaker at the earliest.

During the conversation, Amir Dogar asked about the proposed composition of the committee. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry informed him that, based on the parties' representation in the National Assembly, the committee would include 15 government members and five opposition members.

Amir Dogar suggested that the formula used to form the Electoral Reforms Committee in 2013 should also be considered. He said he would consult the parliamentary leadership before responding to the government.

He also maintained that the committee should first investigate allegations of rigging in the previous elections.
