Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has registered for the Afghanistan Premier League as a British citizen, according to a report published by Jang.

Amir obtained British citizenship after receiving a British passport. His British citizenship means, according to the report, that he does not require a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board to participate in the league.

Sources cited in the report said several Pakistani players had registered for the Afghanistan Premier League draft. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board had reportedly decided not to issue NOCs to Pakistani players seeking to participate.

The players' draft was scheduled for November 3. Amir's registration does not necessarily mean he will be selected by a franchise; that will depend on the draft process.
