The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has introduced a major change in the payment process for passport fees.
According to a public notice, applicants will now have to pay passport fees exclusively by scanning the designated Raast QR code.
The DGIP clarified that payments made through Interbank Fund Transfer (IBFT) using an IBAN, or through the PSID system via Passport Fee Asaan, will no longer be accepted. Applicants have been advised to use only the designated Raast QR code to avoid inconvenience.
The development comes as the government is also working to make passport and document verification faster and more efficient, particularly for overseas Pakistanis.
