A resolution concerning the petroleum levy, presented by Jamaat-e-Islami, has been passed by the Sindh Assembly with a majority vote.
Following the approval, the Secretary of the Sindh Assembly has sent a letter to the Ministry of Petroleum, informing it about the resolution passed by the House.
According to the letter, the resolution was presented by Jamaat-e-Islami member Muhammad Farooq and was approved by a majority of the assembly members.
The resolution states that the actual price of petrol in the country is Rs238.70 per litre, while the government is collecting a petroleum levy of Rs80 per litre on petrol.
It further states that people are already facing inflationary pressures and calls for the removal of the unnecessary levy to provide relief to consumers.
