Despite tax relief announced by the federal government for salaried individuals in the budget, income tax collection from the salaried class increased by Rs2 billion in July 2026 compared with the same month of the previous fiscal year.

According to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officials, Rs44 billion in income tax was collected from salaried individuals during July 2026, compared with Rs42 billion in July last year.

The figures also show a significant increase compared with July 2024, when approximately Rs30 billion was collected from the salaried class.

Meanwhile, the government collected Rs15.5 billion in advance income tax on property transactions during July 2026. Around 90,000 property transactions were recorded during the month.

In July 2025, approximately 60,000 property transactions were recorded. This means property transactions increased by around 50% over the course of one year.

The latest figures come despite the government announcing tax relief for salaried individuals in the federal budget for the new financial year.
