The Punjab Government has announced the application procedure for its interest-free housing loan scheme aimed at helping low-income families repair their homes, restore damaged roofs, and construct upper floors.

Under the "Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar" initiative, eligible applicants can receive interest-free loans ranging from Rs. 500,000 to Rs. 1 million. Two loan categories have been introduced: one for complete housing assistance and another specifically for roof repair and rehabilitation.

Applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab, possess a NADRA-verified CNIC, own a residential property of up to 5 marlas in urban areas or 10 marlas in rural areas, and be between 21 and 60 years of age. They must also have a clean financial record and no conviction for serious criminal offences.

Applications can be submitted through the official online portal by registering an account, selecting the desired loan category, and uploading the required documents, including a CNIC, proof of property ownership, and photographs of the existing house.

To facilitate applicants, the Punjab Government has also established help desks at Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner offices and launched a toll-free helpline for guidance.
