BIRMINGHAM: England defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the third Test, successfully chasing a target of 130 runs to seal victory.
England suffered an early setback during the chase as both openers, Ben Duckett and Emilog, were dismissed without scoring, leaving the visitors struggling at just two runs.
However, captain Joe Root and Jordan Cox steadied the innings and guided England to victory without any further loss.
Root remained unbeaten on 62, while Cox finished unbeaten on 59.
Pakistan had scored 449 runs in their second innings on the third day, securing a 129-run lead and setting England a target of 130 runs.
Despite the modest target, England's early collapse briefly raised hopes for Pakistan before Root and Cox took control of the chase.
