Pakistan’s young batter Maaz Sadaqat made history in the Caribbean Premier League by scoring his maiden T20 century and becoming the youngest player to score a century in CPL history.
Playing for Jamaica Kingsmen against Barbados Tridents in the CPL Eliminator at Kensington Oval, Sadaqat produced a sensational innings as the Kingsmen secured a nine-wicket victory and advanced to Qualifier 2.
Chasing 145, Sadaqat raced to his half-century from just 22 balls before reaching his century in 44 deliveries.
He eventually scored 112 runs from 49 balls, smashing nine fours and eight sixes. Sadaqat was dismissed in the 14th over, but his explosive innings had already put Jamaica Kingsmen firmly in control.
Jamaica Kingsmen reached the target in just 14.1 overs for the loss of one wicket. Kirk McKenzie remained unbeaten on 22, while Pakistan’s Saim Ayub finished unbeaten on 3.
At 21 years old, Sadaqat became the youngest centurion in CPL history with his remarkable performance.
