Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and UFC athlete Allan Nascimento has died at the age of 34. The UFC confirmed his passing, stating that preliminary reports indicate he suffered a heart attack while asleep.
According to the organization, Nascimento was found unconscious at his home on Monday morning. Emergency medical personnel attempted to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement shared on social media, the UFC expressed its condolences to Nascimento's family, friends, teammates, and fans, describing his death as a heartbreaking loss for the MMA community.
Nascimento joined the UFC in 2021 and fought his last bout in June this year against Mitch Raposo, where he lost via a split decision after a closely contested fight.
Throughout his professional MMA career, Allan Nascimento competed in 29 fights, recording 22 victories and 7 defeats. In the UFC, he finished with a record of 4 wins and 2 losses in six appearances.
